Web site is up for 2010 race at swiftsure.org
Sections 1 – 4 of the Notice of Race are posted on the web site, with more to come shortly
A new Swiftsure BLOG is part of the web site where racers and other enthusiasts can submit and respond to postings, and generate discussion about race-related and racing related issues – check it out!
A new Racer Relations Co-ordinator volunteer position has been created, with experienced racer and enthusiast John Green at the helm, as BLOG Master and racer contact
On-line registration information and deadlines will be available in the near future
The 67th Swiftsure will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Navy and celebrate their long standing support of the race
Starting in 1947 with the HMCS Crescent, the Navy has provided on-the-water participation, with their vessels serving as starting line and rounding marks
Commencing in 1955, the Navy has entered training vessel HMCS Oriole into the Swiftsure Lightship Classic
HMSC Oriole holds the honour of registering the greatest number of times for the Swiftsure International Yacht Race
As usual, a good line-up of entertainment is planned for the Bimini at Ship Point, from where the Swiftsure Information Centre will also operate, to round out the race weekend for racers, friends and family members, race enthusiasts, and the general public
